Your wedding Ibiza

Marrying on Ibiza? Who wouldn’t want that? For years now, I have spent my free time on the beautiful island Ibiza and it feels like a second home to me. As a wedding officiant I would love to be a wedding officer on Ibiza too.
At least twice a year (May / June and September / October) I stay on Ibiza for longer periods of time. Even outside these periods I could make your wedding day the most beautiful and unforgettable.
During my stay in Ibiza, I am also available to support you with your wedding day preparations. Together with the several organizations and people I work with, we are able to compose the location, its styling and everything else you need for that one perfect day.

Marriage officiant Ibiza

A marriage officiant is, as the word says, a civil officer who performs the act of marriage in order to verify its legitimacy. On Ibiza, a marriage officiant is not required to perform the act of marriage. I was, however, sworn in by the Dutch government to be allowed to perform weddings on Dutch grounds. This gives me the opportunity to perform the act of marriage in the Netherlands, as well as the ceremonial wedding on Ibiza.

A personal ceremony speaker on Ibiza from the Netherlands

Choosing a marriage officiant who lives in the Netherlands comes with some advantages. This way I will be able to visit you personally in advance to the wedding to get to know you and your wishes, enabling me to make them true as much as I can. If desired so, I can contact loved ones and witnesses and involve them during the speech. The ceremony on Ibiza is solely ceremonial. Therefore, you do not have to oblige to any rules and the whole ceremony could be completely filled with your preferences (e.g. choosing any number of witnesses you want).

Marriage on the beach.

Best wedding time

Ibiza has a Mediterranean climate with gentle winters and warm summers. May, June, September and October are the four months I would recommend as it is just outside of the high season while an average of 23 degrees is neither too hot or too cold to be wearing that heavy dress/for your wedding. July and August of course, the island is filled with tourist and the temperatures rise, but it is always possible to find a beautiful location to promise each other you vows. What about the beach, or on a plateau overlooking Es Vedra?

Civil Registry marriage

Most Dutch people therefore choose to arrange legitimize their marriage beforehand in the Netherlands. This marriage will be performed by one of the local marriage officiants. Within many municipalities the weddings on Mondays are completely free. You even have the option to use your witnesses from the municipality, so no one has to know the official marriage had already taken place.

Signing marriage certificate

The ceremony on Ibiza can not be distinguished from a legal ceremony. The wedding couple, the witnesses and possibly the children (through a special children’s act) sign the marriage certificate. This certificate of marriage looks exactly the same as an official certificate in the Netherlands.
The deed and the complete speech will be handed over to you in a folder for you to read them again as a memory of this special day and moment in your lives.

Prices for a ceremony are on request.
